Warwick Lister-Kaye
Warwick Lister-Kaye is a Highland-based wildlife guide, Expedition Leader and tourism operator who lives with his wife, Becky, and their young family in the Scottish Highlands. His connection to the region spans generations. He was born in the former kennel block where Lord Tweedmouth first bred the golden retriever in 1868, a building later converted into the family home from which his parents helped pioneer wildlife tourism in the Highlands. Growing up surrounded by naturalists, scientists and students, he spent much of his childhood exploring the rivers, lochs and glens that continue to shape his understanding of the region's landscapes and wildlife.
Educated at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Warwick commissioned into The Highlanders in 1996. He served in Northern Ireland and deployed to Kosovo with NATO in 1999, gaining leadership experience in challenging environments before transitioning to the travel industry.
Following his military service, Warwick built a career in expedition travel and tourism, including operating his own company and leading journeys to destinations such as Egypt, South America and Antarctica. Since returning to the Scottish Highlands in 2008, he has focused on sharing the wildlife, history and culture of the region with visitors from around the world.
A keen paraglider, Warwick has flown alongside raptors from the Himalaya to the Hebrides. His work continues to be shaped by a longstanding connection to the wildlife, landscapes and cultural heritage of his Highland home.
