Evangelos Karagiannis

Born in Veroia, Central Macedonia, Greece, near the foothills of Mount Olympus and the ancient Macedonian capitals of Pella and Aigai, Evangelos developed an early appreciation for art, archaeology and the natural world. Growing up in a region shaped by centuries of history and culture helped form his interest in Greece’s landscapes, architecture and heritage.
He studied Italian Language and Literature in Perugia, Italy, followed by History of Art at the University of Florence, where he specialized in the history of architecture. He later worked as a tour leader, accompanying Greek groups on journeys within and beyond the European Union. In 2013, he obtained his official tourist guide license and began guiding travelers throughout Greece.
Alongside his work as a tourist guide in English, Italian and Spanish, Evangelos ran BOREAS Art and Nature Travel Services, an incoming travel agency focused on cultural, educational and adventure tourism throughout Greece, from 2013 to 2025. This work combined his background in art and architecture with extensive experience introducing travelers to the country’s history, culture and landscapes. Since 2020, he has taught Alternative Forms of Tourism at the Tourist Guides’ School of Thessaloniki, where he also leads educational tours for students and contributes his professional experience to the training of future guides.
