Bobbie Jo Romaior
Raised inland in Western Australia, Bobbie's path to the ocean began far from the coast. An early interest in marine environments led her to study aquaculture before transitioning into marine operations, where she built a career working aboard research, conservation and expedition vessels throughout Australia.
Over the years, Bobbie has worked in a variety of marine environments, gaining experience across scientific research, conservation initiatives and expedition travel. Her career has included supporting Southern Ocean research programs, guiding in the Kimberley and assisting with marine assessments on the Great Barrier Reef. She has also contributed to conservation projects with Parks Australia, working alongside scientists and field teams in some of the country's most remote and ecologically significant regions.
These experiences have provided opportunities to navigate remote coastlines, support scientific operations and develop a deeper understanding of Australia's diverse marine and coastal ecosystems. Working closely with researchers and conservation practitioners has strengthened her appreciation for the role science plays in understanding and protecting natural environments.
Today, Bobbie combines her background in marine operations with a strong interest in interpretation and guest experience. She enjoys helping travelers better understand the ecosystems they encounter and sharing insights into the wildlife, landscapes and conservation efforts that shape each destination. Whether aboard expedition vessels or exploring remote coastlines, she values opportunities to connect people with the natural world above and below the surface.
